Archos Internet Media Tablet

Archos Internet Media Tablet
I was online looking for a used or refurbished notebook tablet (an IBM thinkpad x41 tablet) yesterday planning to use it as a GPS but instead I found the Archos 5 60 GB Internet Media Tablet at Amazon.com. It not going to meet my requirements for a PC GPS but its features are interesting.

  • 60 GB capacity for up to 80 movies, 600,000 photos, or 30,000 songs
  • Up to 12 hours music and 4 hours video playback time on a single charge
  • 4.8-inch TFT LCD touchscreen; 800×480 pixel resolution; 16 million colors
  • Video support: MPEG-4, WMV, and M-JPEG; Audio support: MP3, WMA, Protected WMA, WMA pro 5.1, WAV; plug-ins available for further video and audio format support

Now, Im in a dilemma if I still need a used PC or get this baby?

Lenovo Thinkpad X200 tablet is coming?

Lenovo X200 tablet
Im a fan of IBM Thinkpad. My x41 that I currently use as GPS and surfing the web is a way away better than out-of-the-box GPS system out there (IMO). Even though IBM sold their Thinkpad brand to Lenovo, I believe the Thinkpad reliability and legacy is still part of Lenovo’s new branded laptop.

News coming out that Lenovo will introduce an Ultraportable X200 tablet. The spec is posted at Hong Kong Baptist University website although the photo doesn’t look like it’s a tablet but it could be a mistake but what makes it interesting is that it weights 4.17lbs.. that’s heavy for an Ultraportable but again this might included a 8-cell battery and docking station. Under the hood, it comes with 1.86GHz SL9400 Core 2 Duo and a 7-hour battery life for $1,339 which again is way cheaper than the regular X series. I’ll just wait and see for now.

Asus Eee Box

Asus Eee
Wow this new desktop Asus Eee Box looks really slick. Just look at the above photo compared side-by-side with Playstation 3, it is slim, tiny and looks not much bigger than an Eee PC 901. This gadget will cost a mere $429 when it goes on sale in coming weeks4 to 5 weeks. But what does it look like up close?
