Apple will introduced a new iPhone 3G S (Im not sure what S stands for) that will be available this month and dropped the price a current iPhone model to $99 to clear out inventories of old and make ways for new model.

The new iPhone will be available on June 19 in the U.S. with packed with 16gig of storage for $199; 32gig for $299 and the as usual two-year service contract with AT&T Inc.

If you can’t convinced them, then lure them with free stuff. This is the next marketing strategy of Softbank Japan to convince the Japanese to switch to iPhone. As most of us will agree that most mobile phone in Japan are more advanced than the current iPhone 3G, therefore, Japanese consumers will probably have to think twice before they downgrade their digital lifestyle just for the sake of free iPhone come on.

The Apple iPhone 2.2 firmware update is now out ready for download. This version is much needed to improve OS stability by including patches for 12 iPhone vulnerability and security flaws in details in the zdnet blog. Also included are the Google Street View features, Public Transit maps and more… Im too lazy to put them all here

The US smartphone market is heating up and according to market research firm NPD Group the iPhone is leading the pack.

Im still don’t have iPhone 3G but my Blackberry Curve still work just fine.

The iPhone Dev Team who earlier provided a jailbreak for the iPhone 2.0 software but not completely unlocked for the iPhone 3G, which means you and me are still not free from the claw of the iPhone exclusive carriers.

According to the team’s blog post achieved a hack to the iPhone 3G baseband while leaving everything else alone. The approach/solution is through software which they explain it in their own post:

We have accomplished this by being able to execute our own code on the baseband that allows us to circumvent security checks and flash the baseband with older, disallowed firmware. Please note this has been accomplished using software only, the iPhone 3G has not been disassembled or hardware modified in any way.

Are you looking for bulk quantities of unlocked iPhone 3G? Then you might want to try (but first at least verify if they are legit/legal) Union Camera, Ltd. a Hong Kong based company which offers original and all brand new iPhone 3G to interested buyers. Apple Inc. will be launching its new version of iPhone called 3G iPhone this Friday. The new iPhone will utilize the 3G wireless technology and also added new features such as GPS mapping, support for Microsoft Exchange, better sound quality, added battery life, WiFi connectivity and more.

Unlike the previous iPhone, to activate it you’ll have to be at AT&T store, I guess this it to make sure that AT&T is also in the (fees) loop.
