Jensen NVX-225 GPS under US$200

jensen-225-gps.jpg

Another affordable GPS navigation gadget just under $200 (a refurbished or previously enjoyed is little bit cheaper too..)

NVX225 comes with a standard 3.5 inch touch screen and can provide turn-by-turn voice prompts, automatic re-routing when you take a wrong exit or missed your exit (i hate that specially when you’re on a freeway traveling at 65 MPH hehehe.. right) or construction detour. NVX-225 comes with at least 3 million POIs (that’s a lot!) and your standard display of your ETA, miles and hour remaining to your place of destination.

The NVX225 has a built-in SiRF Star III GPS receiver and comes with complete maps for the US and an optional Canada maps on a separate CD (additional fee of course opps.. it is included in the package). Built-in 1GB internal memory storage for maps and POIs update. An SD card slot for additional data storage.

Generic GPS Receiver

Generic GPS receiver
This UT-41 NMEA-0183 output USB GPS receiver is a compact all-in-one GPS solution suitable for a broad range of end product applications, where fast and easy system integration and minimal development risk is required.

This UT-41 features 12 parallel channels and 4100 time/frequency search bins provide short start-up time and fast signal acquisition. Having fast time-to-first-fix and enhanced sensitivity, the UT-41 offers good navigation performance even in urban canyons. The satellite-based augmentation systems, such as WAAS and EGNOS, are supported to yield improved accuracy.

What all this means is that if you have software that can take a GPS unit, but no GPS, then this is the answer you’ve been looking for!  Because the output is a GPS standard protocol (NMEA-0183), many applications work with it out of the box!

Black friday is coming!!

Oh well, this time of the year it seems like a tradition now that you have to leave you thanksgiving gathering early (or don’t sleep at all) so you could queue as early as 2:00am in freezing morning at bestbuy, compusa, staples..etc. just to avail for a huge discount this stores are offering.

But, i’ve been tricked by a couple of this mail-in rebate stuff which I believe is a some sort of trick if you’re not paying attention of mailing the your reciept and upc on time and you’ll probably spending more money than what you;re supposed to saved. But the good thing is I like Staple when it comes to mail-in rebate, you don’t have to cut and mail the upc code but instead you could do it online.

I wish I could get those freebie :-)
