My wife and our twins went to Cheriton, VA last week to spend 3 days camping along the beautiful Chesapeake Bay area. It took me at least 6 hours (these includes all necessary and unnecessary stops) of driving and, of course if you have 4-year-old (x2) it is a must that you make them focus their attention to something else while you concentrate on driving.. so we bought a dual-screen DVD player and borrowed a dozen of DVD from our local library as preparation for our long-trip.
Everything went smoothly except for annoying buzz or interference between my Blackberry and the DVD player. I can’t shake it off, I tried to move my berry away from the DVD monitor but no avail, my dear wife suggests to move it all the way outside of my window.. yeah right!. I can’t turn it off because Im also using it as my GPS (I never gonna do it again!) and I can’t afford to miss my exit or worst lost because of excess mileage will cost us a fortune.
Then reading through an Engadget post I think I found an answer that would solve the interference problem.. as simple as using a ferrite beads.
Just grab some ferrite beads—the same ones that often ship with TVs and USB cables—and attach them to your speaker cables near the speakers. This is probably not a shock to those of you who already know a thing or two about magnetic interference, but for the rest of you, get scouting and grab some tape.
I’ll definitely try this simple solution and I’ll let you know if this works or not.
