A few weeks ago I watched as show about the evolution of disk storage (I believe it was on PBS) and Im amazed how these technologies evolved and its impact on computing technologies. Through the years the program showcase how technology moved from a room full of capacitors and gigantic magnetic plates to a quarter size storage medium.

Yesterday, Cnet reported about this new high-capacity flash drive from SanDisk which the company believe would later on replaced the harddisk of mobile device.
Unlike traditional hard drives, flash memory drives do not contain moving parts. As a result, flash devices are less prone to breaking down—flash cards can survive drops from great heights—and consume less energy. SanDisk’s flash drive can increase battery life by about 10 percent, said Doreet Oren, director of product marketing for SanDisk.“
I totally agree. Although this new storage device will be more expensive than your current 2.5” hard drive is I think understandable but later on as more and more company adopt the technology we would expect the cost will also go down. But for now don’t drop those hard drive.. yet!
The social is now in Orange color. Just recently, couple bloggers spotted on Ebay a limited edition of Microsoft Zune in Orange color but it seems like nobody was interested on it because the number of bid is still zero. Is it maybe because the bid starts high at $750? but hey if it is really RARE then the starting bid amount should not be a factor for a collector or to a real Zune fanboys/girls.
I don’t know, but maybe some Ebayers might think this product is not real (orange color) because we don’t hear/read any sort of announcement but this should make the item more valueble right?

I tried searching it on Ebay but can’t find item, only a few items returned but mostly orange silicon cover, I guess that’s not it.
You’ve probably read or hear about the new buzz that’s going around the internet about a new thing that will be launched by Microsoft, the codenamed “origami” and there’s has been a lot of speculations on what it really is.
I believe this origami thing is like a mobile gadget that they wanted to released pretty soon. I also stumbled into a video looks quite interesting the video can be seen here in YouTube, pretty cool hah!! It looks like a full commercial/video (is Microsoft aware of this??).
My first impression was, origami is a part-PDA, part-computer that interacts with mobile phones, desktops, GPS, and digital cameras through wifi signal. It also seems to have some processing power on its own much like a tablet. Coming soon!
